S1 & S2 Choral Speaking for the 71st Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival
#positiveengagement #positiveachievement

I have never been so unprepared in my life. On the 29th of November, we had our English choral speaking competition. As there were not enough students, a few of my friends and I volunteered to help out. We were supposed to have three lessons to practice. However, because of the school suspension, we only rehearsed for one day in the end. That one day we had to learn when to bow, how to go on stage, and we had to memorise the whole poem. I was in charge of saying the name and the author of the poem at the beginning. I could memorise the poem pretty well, so I didn’t worry too much.
On the day of the competition, I was the first to speak on stage. I was nervous, but after the first word got out, the other words followed easily. Overall, I had a great experience, and through the rush of practicing, I also met a few new friends!
